A Q&A about anything and everything witchcraft, occult, paranormal, metaphysical, religion, etc.

You ask me the questions -either here, by email, or on my twitter- and I answer them to the best of my abilities. I don't know everything of course, so I will be doing research on things that I don't know -but rest assured, I will share my resources.

Keep in mind that I have the right to refuse to answer any question if I feel it is inappropriate, has been answered before, or if I have many questions to choose from.

Also, keep in mind that you, as the querant, have the right to remain anonymous. I will not share information if you want it to remain private.

Thanks for reading!

As I've stated many times , I am not a Wiccan. That does not stop me from looking into and trying to further understand the religion. When I first entered the world of witchcraft and the occult, I encountered Wicca. I did a little bit of studying to see if it was something for me, later realizing that it definitely wasn't. While I have nothing against the
religion, it just isn't for me. I have since decided that I'm agnostic, with a flair of pantheism and animism.

So getting to the point. I have recently been hearing a lot about the Great Rite. I had heard of it before, but I didn't know what it was. My first round of research didn't help. I was still lost to what it was. I knew it was a ritualized sexual act (this can be symbolically or physically done), but I knew nothing about said ritual. Information on it seemed to be shrouded in mystery.

After a little more study, I came to realize that it is a ritualized sexual act meant to symbolize the marriage of the divine masculine (God), and divine feminine (Goddess). There are some specific defined ritual practices that go along with it, but they are hard to find.

This site seemed to have the best information on the Wiccan Great Rite. <Click those words if you're interested in reading up about the Great Rite.

Anyhow, I just thought I would share what I was reading about recently.

Thanks for reading!

<![CDATA[Whoa... It's been a while.]]>Tue, 18 Aug 2015 23:22:37 GMThttp://aneclecticmusing.weebly.com/blog/whoa-its-been-a-whileI kinda ran away from my blog for a while. It's been crazy in my life. I've been doing a lot of soul searching and have had a lot of ups and downs. I've had to learn how to juggle family, relationships, and spirituality. On top of that, I have been having some self image issues. I needed to cut something out for a while. This blog happened to make the cutting list. But I've finally gotten to the point where I feel like I can revive this.

So I've been continuing studying shamanism. I haven't gotten to he point where I am comfortable practicing yet, but I am getting there. I have also begun a Book of Shadows. I have tried making a BoS many times, but the journal format didn't work for me. I decided I would do a binder format, and it has been working much better for me.

I also have been looking a little bit into some chaos magic. It interests me, but I'm not sure how much. I will continue reading into it to see if it's something for me.

Well, thanks for being patient with me! I look forward to posting more.]]>
<![CDATA[Needed a Breather]]>Thu, 23 Jul 2015 19:27:40 GMThttp://aneclecticmusing.weebly.com/blog/needed-a-breatherI haven't been posting as normally as of late, and I apologize for that. A lot of stuff has been going on at home, and while I've been here able to post, I haven't felt the drive to do it. I've been going through a bit of emotional and mental turmoil to say the least, but I fully intend to begin posting here regularly again.

I will keep you guys updated on what I'm studying and doing, so thanks for being patient with me. ]]>
<![CDATA[A Busy Summer]]>Thu, 16 Jul 2015 19:38:04 GMThttp://aneclecticmusing.weebly.com/blog/a-busy-summer
I figured I would update you guys on what I have been doing with my time recently. One of the more time consuming this has been cleaning and painting animal bones. In the picture to the left, you can see my most recent project. When I got this skull, it was already very clean, but I didn't have to materials to paint it yet.

I painted this skull with oil paints. If I had more money to by supplies, I would have probably done
this in acrylics, but I was just working with what I had. I have a few more bones that I will paint, but I need to get my ideas for them sorted out first.

Aside from that, I have been busy with family life. Being a closet witch, I have been trying extra hard to keep my practices secret. There are not many, if any at all, in my family that would be accepting of my practices. And it has been harder and harder to cover up my little idiosyncrasies.
I have also been making dream catchers! I just recently made the one on the right. It was my first dream catcher. I hope to make more soon, but I have to get more supplies.

I have been very crafty recently. I am thinking that I may make an Etsy store if I get enough things together that I would be willing to sell. Dream catchers, painted bones, and possibly hand made incense, and other things. I don't know. It's just a possibility right now.

Other than that, in my spare time I have been working out. I want to lose about 20 pounds before school starts up again. I haven't felt very good about myself as of late, but I feel better when I'm trying to eat right and live right.
I am also continuously studying Shamanism. The path just seems to fit with me, but I have a lot to learn before I throw myself into the practice. Thankfully, I know a group of people that will be able to help me learn. I have plenty of good resources at my fingertips, so I just have to commit myself to studying.

Well, that's about it. My summer had been nice and busy, and I'm keeping myself even busier.

Thanks for reading!

<![CDATA[Rebuilding Site]]>Sun, 12 Jul 2015 20:25:16 GMThttp://aneclecticmusing.weebly.com/blog/rebuilding-siteI haven't been posting much because I have been spending my efforts rebuilding the site. I decided it needed a bit of a new look, so I have been changing things up. It's been more work than I expected actually!

On top of that, I recently factory reset my computer. Thankfully, I have all my photos saved, and will be able to put them all in their respectful place on my computer and on site.

Thanks for being patient with me!]]>
<![CDATA[Chakras: Are they relevant?]]>Thu, 09 Jul 2015 17:02:14 GMThttp://aneclecticmusing.weebly.com/blog/chakras-are-they-relevant
After being in the occult for a while, I have heard a lot about Chakras. I have studied Chakras. I took the time to read about them, learn them, learn their associations.

But then I stopped.

It didn't take me long to realize that the Chakra system wasn't for me. It also didn't take me long to realize that it is very hard to find reliable
Chakra information. Most of the stuff I read was on New Age sites, and most of the stuff I heard had been regurgitated from those same sites. It was like a giant game of telephone was going on with the Chakras.

After a while, I was taught that the Chakras were probably Hindu in origin. In fact, after getting past all the New Age reinventions of Chakras, I realized how different they were. Did I want to become involved in Hinduism so I can properly learn about Chakras? Did I even, at this point, believe in Chakras?

The answer to both of those questions were "no.

I don't mind the concept of Chakras, but I think many people don't really know anything about them. They have been immersed into the occult culture extremely different from how they originally began. And while reconstruction to fit with modern needs is necessary, I don't find what has been done to the Chakras to be tasteful.

Personally, I don't even follow the idea of Chakras anymore. Striving for balance emotionally and spiritually is something I do, but I do not use the Chakras to guide me there.

Thanks for reading!

<![CDATA[Busy Schedule]]>Tue, 07 Jul 2015 21:10:44 GMThttp://aneclecticmusing.weebly.com/blog/busy-scheduleI have a pretty busy schedule, but I will be trying to post as much as possible. Bear with me, I'm trying to get back on a normal schedule again.

I am going to be gone tomorrow, but I should be home the rest of the week. I'm just not sure what will be needed of me around the house. I do have a post in mind, so I will write that as soon as I have the time.]]>
